Description:: The US Geological Survey (USGS), National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center (NCCWSC), is offering a funding opportunity for research to develop science-based climate-smart conservation approaches. The objective of this Agreement is to facilitate collaboration on the development and incorporation of science-based approaches to climate change adaptation planning and implementation. The project has the following specific goals:
� Development and implement what constitutes �climate-smart conservation� and develop a set of science-based criteria or key characteristics for assessing or evaluating adaptation projects and initiatives.
� Develop science based approaches for planning, design, and implementation of adaptation strategies to achieve climate-smart conservation objectives, and understanding climate vulnerability of targeted natural resources,
� Develop science based decision processes as guidance for incorporating climate-smart conservation into existing agency and organizational planning and management approaches.
