Description: | DE-FOA-0001631: Request for Information: Miscellaneous Electric Loads (MELs) Energy Efficiency Research and Development
The United States (U.S.) Department of Energy (DOE) Building Technologies Office (BTO) is seeking information from the public on technological advancements for miscellaneous electric loads (MELs) in U.S. residential and commercial buildings. In particular, BTO is interested in feedback on potential R&D strategies to reduce MELs’ energy consumption, and on the specific technical performance and cost metrics and targets used to evaluate R&D approaches. The purpose of this RFI is to solicit feedback from industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, and other stakeholders on issues related to research and development (R&D) to reduce the energy consumption of miscellaneous electric loads (MELs) in residential and commercial buildings in the U.S. Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is specifically interested in information on potential R&D strategies and on the specific technical performance and cost metrics and targets that can or should be used to evaluate such approaches. This is solely a request for information and not a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). Therefore, DOE is not accepting applications at this time. All responses to this RFI must be provided as an attachment (in Microsoft Word format) to an e-mail message addressed to RFI-MELS@ee.doe.gov. Responses must be received no later than 5:00pm (ET) on October 3, 2016. The full content of the announcement can be found on the EERE Exchange website at https://eere-exchange.energy.gov. |
