Description: The US Geological Survey, Department of the Interior¿s (DOI) Southeast Climate Science Center (DOI SECSC), is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to support the project entitled ¿Development of an adaptive management framework for the conservation of the New England cottontail (Sylvilagus transitionalis) and testing population response to eastern cottontail (Sylvilagus floridanus) control¿.

The funding opportunity is being offered to develop and test an adaptive management approach to determine the effectiveness of a multi-state conservation strategy that aims to recover populations of the New England cottontail, Sylvilagus transitionalis (hereafter NEC), the only endemic lagamorph species to New England.
