Informational Call on USAID’s Middle East and North Africa Investment Initiative – Please RSVP

Hello,

I would like to invite you to an informational conference call on the launch of USAID’s Middle East and North Africa Investment Initiative (MENA Investment Initiative) this Thursday, February 13 at 11:00am EST.

The call will provide an opportunity for you and your organization to ask questions and learn more about the MENA Investment Initiative. It will be hosted by USAID Chief of Staff and COO Margaret Sullivan, Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Middle East Bureau Alina Romanowski, and representatives from USAID’s Office of Acquisition and Assistance and Office of General Counsel. USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah will open the conversation.

At the encouragement of Secretary Kerry, the MENA Investment Initiative will provide needed support to early stage businesses in order to create and sustain jobs, advance and develop the investment ecosystem, and encourage increased equity investment in early stage businesses in targeted Middle East countries.

The Request for Applications (RFA) for the MENA Investment Initiative has been released and can be found on Grants.gov. The MENA II mechanism is designed to allow an Investment Manager to make market-based investment decisions free of most government restrictions. It will also incentivize the Investment Manager with potential profit sharing. Reflows will be able to flow back through the investment structure, creating a sustainable Investment Manager.

Please RSVP to Jason Raymond (jraymond@usaid.gov) if you or your organization would like to participate in the conference call on Thursday, February 13 at 11:00am EST.

CALL INFORMATION:
Please Dial: +1-816-650-0725
Participant Code: 7988957692

Questions can be submitted in advance of the conference call by sending them to menaii@usaid.gov. All questions and answers provided during the conference call will be posted as an amendment to the RFA.
