Additional Information

Agency Name:: Health Resources and Services Administration
Description:: The purpose of this program is to address significant disparities in Perinatal health including disparities experienced by Hispanics, American Indians, African-Americans, Asian/Pacific Islanders, and immigrant populations. Differences in perinatal health indicators may occur by virtue of education, age of mother, income, disability, or living in rural/isolated areas. To address disparities and the factors contributing to them in these indicators, it is anticipated that the proposed scope of project services will cover the pregnancy and interconception phases for women and infants residing in the proposed project area. In order to promote longer interconception periods and prevent relapses of risk behaviors, the woman and infant are to be followed through the infant’s second year of life and/or two years following delivery.
