Additional Information

Agency Name: Fish and Wildlife Service
Description: The Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge led an effort to develop a voluntary participation water temperature monitoring implementation plan funded by the Western Alaska Landscape Conservation Cooperative. The initial partnership of Refuge Staff, ADF&G, Sunaq Tribe, and the Kodiak Aquaculture Association conducted extensive outreach to identify additional partners willing to participate in the water temperature monitoring network. In 2015 the Western Alaska LCC funded the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge to initiate the water temperature monitoring network as described in the strategic plan. The partners will collect and share water temperature data for at least two years in an effort to improve the available information to understand how salmon habitat may change as water temperature changes occur.
