Description: | BLM-AK has youth funding available to work with a qualified youth conservation corps for the purpose of introducing youth and young adults to careers in the BLM and assist in fulfilling our mission.These new projects are within the Fairbanks District Office (FDO). The Fairbanks District Office (FDO) includes the Eastern Interior Field Office (EIFO) and the Central Yukon Field Office (CYFO). Together, these offices have over 250 miles of trails, 34 mile of roads, 200 mile of user created travel routes, 10 campgrounds and 38 waysides. Special management areas include the Dalton Highway Corridor, Fort Egbert National Historic Site, White Mountains National Recreation Area, Steese National Conservation Area, Beaver Creek (127 river miles), Birch Creek (126 river miles) and Fortymile (392 river miles) National Wild and Scenic Rivers and the Pinnell Mountain National Recreation Trail (27 miles). Many of these facilities and management areas have multiple projects to maintain and protect the values and resources on public lands. |
