Description: |
This is an announcement for issuing a single source financial assistance award to the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey (CWF). This announcement is for notification purposes only.The intent of the award is to conduct monitoring of nesting activities of Federally threatened and State endangered beach-nesting birds on Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge (Refuge). Species being monitored are the piping plover (Charadrius melodus), least tern (Sterna albifrons), black skimmer (Rynchops niger) and American oystercatcher (Haematopus palliates). The project is intended to determine breeding success and causes contributing to nest and brood loss to better understand overall population status. CWF would conduct activities on a daily basis (minimum five days/week each). This opportunity is authorized under the Fish and Wildlife Act of 1956, as amended, 16 U.S.C. 742a-754; Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act of 1958, 16 U.S.C. 661-667(e); Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 16 U.S.C. 2901-2911; Migratory Bird Treaty Act, 16 U.S.C. 709a. |
