CDC is offering funding to improve the civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) system in Malawi, supported by PEPFAR. The grant aims to enhance birth and death registrations in all districts, focusing on standardizing reporting systems and strengthening death registration processes. The goal is to increase the completeness and coverage of registrations, particularly deaths, by employing both paper and electronic methods. The expected outcomes include improved CRVS sustainability, expanded birth and death registrations, and better utilization of vital statistics for decision-making. Grant applications are due by March 5, 2020.

Description: | The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $1,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds. This NOFO aims to build upon a civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) reporting system, which is based on international standards, and implemented in all districts in Malawi. The PEPFAR supported CRVS has two components: birth and death registration. The birth registration system has been scaled up to all districts, but the districts are functioning at varying levels of completeness and coverage. The death registration system is being piloted in four districts for facility-based deaths, while the community death registration is being piloted in one district, with the aim of scaling to all four pilot districts by September 2019. Building upon this work, the NOFO aims to strengthen the death registration in the four pilot districts and scale up to the rest of the country. A crucial component of the death registration system is the cause of death standardized coding, which the recipient will be responsible for strengthening. Both death and birth registration systems combine use of paper and electronic systems. The expected outcomes of this NOFO are improved sustainability of CRVS operations; increased coverage of birth and death registrations; and ensured timely availability, reporting, and use of vital statistics. %MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN%%MCEPASTEBIN% This NOFO aims to build upon a civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) reporting system, which is based on international standards, and implemented in all districts in Malawi.
