Agency Name:: Fish and Wildlife Service
Description:: The US Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), Headquarters Region 7 intends to award a single source Cooperative Agreement to the Living with Wildlife Foundation (LWWF) in support of the 4th International Human-Bear Conflicts Workshop, March 20-22, 2012 in Missoula, Montana. This notice is not a request for proposals and the Government does not intend to accept proposals. Award will be made 15 days after this notice.
PURPSOE:
The 4th International Human-Bear Conflicts Workshop will be another in a series of professional gatherings emphasizing participation by agency managers, conservation officers, community wildlife specialists, and others who are working to reduce human-bear conflicts. We will engage in professional discussion, debate, and information sharing with an emphasis on improving current methods. Service and other government employees will be able to promote and foster well-designed research of the highest professional standards, develop and promote sound stewardship of the world¿s bears through scientifically based population and habitat management, support innovative solutions to bear-human conflicts and conservation dilemmas that involve local communities as well as national or regional governments and, and form partnerships with other institutions to achieve conservation goals. A special emphasis will be placed on the polar bear due to its change of status in the U.S. and climate change.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this agreement is to provide support and assistance to the Living with Wildlife Foundation in support of the 4th International Human-Bear Conflicts Workshop, March 20-22, 2012 in Missoula, Montana.
Unique Qualifications ¿ The applicant is uniquely qualified to perform the activity based upon a variety of demonstrable factors such as location, property ownership, voluntary support capacity, cost-sharing ability, if applicable, technical expertise, or other such unique qualifications. Furthermore, the Living with Wildlife Foundation is hosting the 4th International Human-Bear Conflicts Workshop, March 20-22, 2012 in Missoula, Montana. (http://www.cfc.umt.edu/humanbearconflicts/).
