Description:: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Region 7 – – Science Applications Program, Arctic Landscape Conservation Cooperative is accepting proposals at this time with the intent to provide financial assistance awards in the following areas:DescriptionThe primary purpose of this federal assistance award is to support the recipient¿s program, goals, and objectives while addressing the conservation goals and high priority information and management needs identified by the Arctic Landscape Conservation Cooperative as being most important in addressing national and international resource planning in the arctic under rapidly changing climate conditions.The objective of this request is to address knowledge and information gaps identified by the six Arctic LCC Technical Working Groups and the Steering Committee. Products of projects addressing the project themes set forth below will benefit researchers, land managers, and the general public by making needed information easily accessible via the internet for use in ongoing and future research, management, planning, and other applications. The specific objectives of this RFP are to:1. Develop (but not implement) interdisciplinary study plans integrating across one or more watersheds in the Alaska portion of the ALCC (up to three awards).2. Generate improved permafrost baseline information for the Alaska portion of the Arctic LCC (one award)3. Conduct a feasibility study for thermokarst monitoring at the landscape level (one award)Projects can be funded for up to five years under the proposed scope of work and initial budget. There is no guarantee of receiving additional funding in future years. Additional work beyond what is originally proposed must undergo a competitive awards process in the future.Additional details regarding proposal expectations and requirements are available at the grants tab at www.arcticlcc.org.
