Description:: | The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad announces an open competition for a cooperative agreement to design and implement a U.S. Cultural Immersion Institute for English Access Microscholarship Program Teachers and Students for 2 to 3 weeks in summer 2013. The institute program should not take place during Ramadan (approximately July 7 through August 9, 2013). Non-profit organizations or academic institutions meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3) may submit proposals to design and implement this program. Participants for the institute program will be selected by U.S. Embassy Islamabad from active participants of the English Access Microscholarship Program. This program is implemented in Pakistan by several local organizations in coordination with the Embassy and the Department of States Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. The project described in this Request for Proposals (RFP) will support the participation and travel of 25 Access Program teachers and 25 Access students to the U.S. There are approximately 6,000 students and 150 teachers participating in the program in 16 cities throughout Pakistan. The timeframe for achieving the objectives must be clearly outlined in the proposal funding request. The project implementation period should be proposed for eighteen to twenty-four months. Knowledge of working conditions in Pakistan can be important for a successful proposal and project. |
