The Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) works to strengthen partnerships, civilian capacity, and information sharing around the world to counter terrorist threats and prevent the spread of violent extremism. CT designs, manages, and oversees foreign assistance programs to build the civilian capabilities of foreign government partners to counter terrorism and violent extremism in an effective and sustainable fashion.
