Additional Information

Agency Name:: National Institutes of Health
Description:: NIDA grant-funded research programs aiming to develop medications for the treatment of Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) are often hindered by a lack of both human and financial resources. Drug development is a long process that requires teams of people with a wide range of individual skill sets. Consequently, individual grantees with the skills to get through the preclinical stages of drug development often fail to transition their project through the clinic and into the market place. Grantees frequently lack both real world experience of the drug development process and the financial resources to advance a medication to the market place in the necessary timeframe. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to help support these efforts to meet these objectives by leveraging the strengths of two or more organizations toward a common goal of medications development.
