BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES
Cooperative Agreement Number P15AC00015 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS) and A.C.E. (hereafter referred to as ‘Recipient’ for the purpose of providing: Trail Maintenance to the GRCA Corridor/Greenway Trail Systems. Unless otherwise specified herein, the terms and conditions as stated in the Cooperative Agreement will apply to this Task Agreement.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Duties and Tasks to be performed:
Project work will include, but is not limited to the following: Clearing drainage ditches and water diversion features using hand tools, building various trail structures and maintaining trail tread per GRCA Trails Standards, responding to unforeseen trail damage (I.e. rockslides) caused by weather events, assisting NPS Trail Crew with various masonry projects, repair of mortar and dry masonry walls, repair/replacement of stone liner, repair/replacement of trail tread materials, quarrying, and transport of materials (stone/soil).

Due to narrow trail alignment, fragile vegetation, and wildlife concerns, CL-ACE and
NPS crewmembers will be required to transport materials from staging areas to specific
workstations via hand or wheelbarrow per project compliance requirements.
All youth groups will be deployed with Journeyman NPS staff at an approximate 5-1
ratio.

Each youth corps member will receive an educational component in addition to
performing physical work. Youth groups can expect to observe and interact in a variety
of group discussions related to the assigned projects.

This project will provide youth corps members with exposure to a variety of experts in
fields of Facility Management, Cultural Resource Management, Interpretation, and Law
Enforcement. Topics covered include, but are not limited to: Park mission and goals,
compliance review and mitigation, work tracking and documentation, visitor contact and
communication, safety awareness and trail deficiency identification.

RECIPIENT AGREES TO:
Recipient agrees to:

1. Communicate daily with representatives of the NPS to assure activities are performed in accordance with park compliance and policy, as needed to complete the project.
2. Recipient will assist NPS staff as needed to accomplish the goals of this project.
3. Recipient will perform a variety of trail maintenance work to the Clear Creek Trail under direct supervision or independently with measurable success as agreed upon by NPS and Recipient work leaders. Daily activities will vary in scope and complexity.
4. Provide basic personal protective equipment including gloves, safety glasses, orange safety vests, hardhats, etc.
5. Provide all food, transportation and camping equipment to their work crew.
6. Provide a summary report of work accomplished.
