| Description: |
This announcement is to provide public notice of the NPS’s intention to award financial assistance for the following project activities without competition to Copper County Intermediate School District (CCISD). Keweenaw National Historical Park and the CCISD have been educational partners for the past 15 years. Collaboratively, the two organizations work together to address history, science, literature, and social studies education standards that enhance classroom learning through place-based educational opportunities at the park and park partner locations. Objectives are to collaborate to develop educator workshops, K-12 educational curriculum, youth outreach programs and events. One educator workshop per school year, development of three new sets of social studies, science, or history curriculum that links park themes to state and national education standards, and implementation of 2-4 youth-focused events or outreach programs. |
