USDA FNS SNAP E&T Pilots Grant Opportunity

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service is offering a grant opportunity to develop, implement, and evaluate pilot projects aimed at reducing dependency and increasing work effort in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). With $200 million in funding, up to ten pilot projects will test various employment and training activities to help SNAP recipients secure unsubsidized employment, boost earned income, and decrease reliance on public assistance. Any of the 53 State agencies that administer SNAP (50 States and the District of Columbia,
Guam, and the Virgin Islands) may apply for a grant. State agencies may apply on behalf of
county-administered SNAP agencies that wish to operate a pilot. State agencies may submit more
than one application. For example, a State agency may submit applications for two different
project ideas or submit applications on behalf of several county-administered programs.

Description::	Section 16(h)(1)(F) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (the Act), as amended by the Agricultural Act of 2014 (P.L. 113-79), provides $200 million for the development, implementation, and evaluation of up to ten pilot projects designed to reduce dependency and increase work effort under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
