Agency Name: Dept. of the Army — USAMRAA
Description:

The ARP Clinical Translational Research Award is intended to support early-phase, proof-of-principle translational studies that will examine hypothesis-based, innovative interventions/clinical research that has the potential to address current clinical deficits for ASD. Applications are strongly encouraged to address one of the FY20 ARP Clinical Translational Research Award Areas of Interest. If the proposed project does not address any of the FY20 ARP Clinical Translational Research Award Areas of Interest, the application should describe how the project will nevertheless address a critical need of the ASD community. Outcomes from studies funded by this award are anticipated to provide scientific rationale for subsequent development of larger, efficacy-based clinical trials of interventions that will transform ASD clinical care.

The FY20 ARP Clinical Translational Research Award seeks applications for early-phase clinical research. The ARP encourages applications that address the critical needs of the ASD community in one or more of the following areas:

• Dissemination/implementation of clinically validated interventions

• Behavioral, cognitive, and other non-pharmacological therapies for ASD core symptoms or to alleviate co-occurring conditions

• Pharmacological, genetic, and other biological treatments for ASD core symptoms or to alleviate co-occurring conditions

• Improve diagnosis and access to services across the life span

• Interventions promoting success in key transitions to adulthood for individuals living with ASD

• Healthcare provider-focused training or tools to improve healthcare delivery for individuals with ASD across the life span and the continuum of care (i.e., primary care, urgent/emergent care, and disaster relief)

• Cultural, socioeconomic, and gender factors in diagnosis, treatment efficacy, delivery, and access to services

• Understanding heterogeneity in treatment response
