Additional Information

Agency Name: DARPA – Microsystems Technology Office
Description: Amendment 01: The purpose of this amendment is to delete the reference to Section III of the Technical/Management Proposal made at Part II, Section IV, Subsection B(3)(Page 20). See changes to DARPA-BAA-14-34 highlighted in yellow in the attached conformed BAA document.

Original Synopsis below.

DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals to explore the feasibility of a wideband spread-spectrum RF communications system with greater than 10 GHz of instantaneous bandwidth. The system will operate below 20 GHz to mitigate atmospheric absorption and employ coding gain and spectral filtering for resistance to jamming. This program will explore what is possible to inform debate and future DARPA investment as this small study is planned as the first step in a potential larger effort. Proposed studies will advance via two thrust areas: 1) investigation of system architectures, channel propagation effects, spectrum regulation, signal processing techniques and culminating in a demonstration using commercial components and 2) the development of novel receiver technologies with a path towards a hand-held radio size, weight and power envelope. See full DARPA-BAA-14-34 document attached.
