Additional Information

Agency Name: Fish and Wildlife Service
Description: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), Midwest Region, intends to issue a Single Source Grant Agreement Award without competition to the Great Lakes Fishery Commission (Commission) to support projects that address needs and factors limiting aquatic connectivity identified by the Great Lakes Aquatic Connectivity Collaborative (collaborative). The Commission is best positioned to conduct this process as they provided strategic leadership and facilitate the activities of the collaborative. Current priorities include investigating the real-world utility of using existing decision support tools to guide the selection of on-the-ground connectivity projects, communications support for successfully sharing the identity and work of the Collaborative with a broader audience, and filling knowledge/data gaps for improved goal setting, tool development, and decision making. This relates to previously supported projects by the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes Landscape Conservation Cooperative (UMGL LCC) titled, ⿿Optimizing connectivity in the Great Lakes basin to restore native fish migrations while controlling invasive species⿝ as well as aquatic connectivity decision support tools developed by the Great Lakes Basin Fish Habitat Partnership, the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, and the Great Lakes Commission.
