Description: The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to solicit applications that propose to develop a Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Collaborative Consortium. The Collaborative Consortium will be responsible for developing an infrastructure upon which a future SCD in SSA Research Network can be built. This Collaborative Consortium will be comprised of a Consortium Hub (applicant institution) and at least two Collaborating Sites located in sub-Saharan African countries separate from that of the applicant institution.This program is intended to establish an SCD resource that can be shared across the collaborative consortium to enhance future research endeavors.
