Description: This program is to provide internships to recent graduates who have obtained either a Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree in a conservation related field such as botany, biology, or ecology. The program is to further the development and maintenance of natural resources by America’s youth, and in so doing prepare them for the ultimate responsibility of maintaining and managing these resources for the American people. The program will provide hands on experiences in conservation with such projects as management and monitoring of rare flora species, seed collection and the development of native plants materials, and training in the fields of Botany and Seeds of Success seed collection. It will expose young men and women to public service while furthering their understanding and appreciation of the Nation’s natural and cultural resources and will create the next generation of public land stewards.
