Description: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting applications from eligibleapplicants as described in Section III.A to provide training and technical assistance for smallpublic water systems to help such systems achieve and maintain compliance with the SafeDrinking Water Act (SDWA), and to provide training and technical assistance for small publiclyownedwastewater systems, communities served by onsite/decentralized wastewater systems, andprivate well owners to improve water quality under the Clean Water Act (CWA). Training andtechnical assistance activities provided to these systems, communities and private well ownersshould be made available nationally in rural and urban communities and to personnel of triballyownedand operated systems. These goals support the following objectives of EPA’s StrategicPlan for Fiscal Year (FY) 2014 – 2018: Goal 2: Protecting America’s Waters, Objective 2.1:Protect Human Health, and Objective 2.2: Protect and Restore Watersheds and AquaticEcosystems.
