Additional Information

Agency Name: Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs
Description: The U.S. Department of State Bureau of East Asia Pacific Affairs announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for a project that supports economic growth, energy security, and emissions reductions in the Lower Mekong and Southeast Asia. Through the Lower Mekong Initiative and ASEAN Standardization Harmonization Initiative for Energy Efficiency (Shine) program, this project will seek to build on the existing ASEAN-Shine ASEAN Regional and Vietnam National Roadmaps by assisting Vietnam in implementing higher minimum energy performance standards for air conditioning and encouraging enforcement of those standards. These goals will be accomplished through two workshops in Southeast Asia that will bookend subject matter engagement using global standards and labeling subject matter experts and tailored global and regional best practices (including Thailand).
