Additional Information

Agency Name: National Park Service
Description: Master Cooperative Agreement Number P15AC00012 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and Citizens Conservation Corps for the purpose of providing education, stewardship and employment opportunities to young people. This project provides learning and training opportunities for four local youth who will spend a summer working alongside park rangers providing visitor services to park visitors at information centers and throughout New River Gorge National River. Interns will perform a variety of duties associated with the operation of park visitor centers, providing visitor services at designated points of interest in the park by roving trails and distributing park information.  Youth interns will participate in seasonal training including park and mission orientation, introduction to the fundamental resources of the park, and interpretive techniques.  They will plan and present at least three new visitor engagement or outreach programs (formal interpretive programs, roving, or informal visitor services). Youth interns will also participate in safety training including CPR and First Aid, park communications and radio use, and preparedness for program activities.

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to award a task agreement under a previously competed or single source justified master cooperative agreement.
