Additional Information

Agency Name: National Park Service
Description:

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD: This is not a request for applications. This provides public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to award a task agreement under a previously awarded cooperative agreement. The students in this project will gain hands-on experience in the proper monitoring and surveying techniques for archaeological resources, including the stabilization of eroding sites, selection of materials, cataloging and analyzing artifacts, and writing professional reports. The project will directly contribute to the public and interns’, understanding of the cultural resources within GUIS, and will promote resource stewardship principles within the crews participating in the project. A secondary benefit to the public will be the enhanced ability of GUIS to interpret the long history of the park using the findings.
