Funding may come available to support Economic Evaluation of Electronic/Video Approaches to Directly Observed Therapy. Grantees willing to participate in an economic evaluation of traditional, in-person directly observed therapy (DOT) for tuberculosis and electronic forms of DOT [jurisdictions that currently operate an electronic DOT program in a HIPPA compliant manner, have the capacity to collect data at the patient level for 20-25 patients in low incident areas, have the capacity to collect data at the patient level for 35-40 patients in medium incident areas, have the capacity to collect data at the patient level for 45-50 patients in high TB incident areas within a 6 to 9 month period of time] should describe their electronic DOT program and mechanism for ethics approval, include a separate detailed budget and justification that describes how funding will be used to support the project, including the amount allocated for patient incentives.
