Additional Information
| Agency Name: | Bureau of International Narcotics-Law Enforcement |
| Description: |
The State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) partners with the GOM, NGOs, international organizations, and communities to support supply and demand side counter narcotics efforts. INL tailors its demand-side engagements to be complementary to ongoing efforts to increase the GOM’s capacity to control the supply of drugs. INL’s demand reduction efforts have primarily focused on workforce professional development through training on the Universal Prevention and Universal Treatment Curricula, as well as supporting the development of community-based drug prevention strategies. To complement the U.S. National Drug Control Strategy and meet INL priorities on drug demand reduction, mainly the promotion and use of internationally accepted standards, INL has allocated up to $500,000 USD in FY 2015 and FY 2016 International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement funds for drug demand reduction projects supporting evidence-based public education programs to raise awareness and promote effective alternatives for target populations in Myanmar. |
