Priority Region: Project activities must take place in South Africa and the United States, and be directed at South African audiences/participants.

ProgramObjectives:

·         To develop a publically accessible museum-style exhibition that would represent the historical anti-Apartheid movement in the United States. 

·         To raise public awareness both in the United States and in South Africa of the similarities and synergies between the American civil rights movement, the anti-Apartheid movement in the United States, and South Africa’s liberation struggle.   

·         To balance South Africans’ perceptions of the role U.S. civil society played in trying to end Apartheid in South Africa and support the struggle for liberation.
