Bureau of Reclamation Grants: CFM Assistance at Coleman and Nimbus Hatcheries

The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) intends to issue a Grant Agreement to Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) under the authority of Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) 15.512, Public Law 102-575, Section 3406 (b)(1) and 3407(e). Estimated total Federal amount of agreement is $899,999. Reclamation is providing $896,269 in Fiscal Year 2020. 

The objectives of the project are:

·        evaluate the contribution rates of hatchery and naturally produced fish to Central Valley Chinook salmon populations and to the common property fisheries,

·        monitor and evaluate the hatchery programs’ genetic and ecological effects on natural populations,

·        evaluate the success of restoration actions designed to increase natural production of Central Valley Chinook salmon,

·        estimate exploitation rates in ocean and inland fisheries,

·        evaluate the impacts of straying on natural populations.

A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed financial assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505 DM 2, paragraph 2.14(B)(4) is solely within the discretion of the Government.
