Additional Information

Agency Name: Fish and Wildlife Service
Description: THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE, AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUNCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a cooperative agreement to conduct surveys of the eastern population of gopher tortoises in Alabama. Currently, Georgia DNR, South Carolina DNR, and Florida FWCC have conducted line transect distance sampling (LTDS) on a variety of state, federal, and private lands, and are incorporating the data into a conservation strategy for the gopher tortoise. However, population data for Alabama is lacking in many areas, and the data will be used in to make more informed decisions regarding conservation and management efforts for the gopher tortoise within the state of Alabama.
