US Geological Survey Cooperative Research Units Program FY 2016

The US Geological Survey Cooperative Research Units Program facilitates collaboration between States, Universities, the Federal government, and a non-profit organization through 40 Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Units across 38 states. Originating in the 1930s with nine Units, Congress has since established additional Units at designated universities. This program is a joint effort supported by the US Geological Survey, Host Universities, State Natural Resource Agencies, Wildlife Management Institute, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, aiming to advance research in the field of fish and wildlife conservation.
