The Health Department is offering a grant for developing innovative Multipurpose Prevention Technologies (MPT) that can prevent pregnancy and HIV infection in women. The focus is on creating MPTs with rheological properties compatible with long-acting reversible contraceptive strategies. Applicants will need to incorporate drug delivery systems capable of sustained release of both drugs and use licensed contraceptives. This grant requires an industry partner, milestone-based progress, and submission of a pre-IND application to the FDA in year 5. Closing date: March 19, 2018.
