Additional Information

Agency Name: Bureau of Reclamation
Description:

Under this Cooperative Agreement, University of Colorado Boulder will study

Concentrate Minimization, inline static mixer/crystallizers. The project will

translate this correlation into the static inline mixers and perform systematic

experiments to estimate the parameters.

Researchers at University of Colorado Boulder will focus on the following

tasks:

  • Translate previously found correlation (previous BOR-CU Boulder

collaboration) into bench scale static inline mixers and perform

systematic experiments to estimate the parameters

  • Bench scale testing of the static inline mixer to increase rate of

nucleation and crystallization of 2 model Reverse Osmosis concentrate

streams

  • Pilot scale testing of the static inline mixer to increase rate of nucleation

and crystallization of Reverse Osmosis concentrate stream at

demonstration site
