The objectives of this research project are to assess the
hearing sensitivity of some native species of concern, specifically, Freshwater
Drum and Bigmouth Buffalo, in year one of the project and to assess the ambient
soundscape at a lock and dam (Lock and Dam 19) on the Mississippi River as a
potential site for acoustic deterrent development.
