Additional Information

Agency Name: Geological Survey
Description: The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU
partner for research in ¿A National synoptic evaluation
of tidal saline wetland elevation change trends using
Surface Elevation Table data.¿

The research in this funding opportunity will advance the
understanding of the response of tidal saline wetlands to
sea level rise and the physical and biological processes
that are involved using empirical data. The goal of this
collaborative research is to increase our understanding
of surface elevation trends across the U.S. coastline and
how these trends relate to (1) geographic region, (2)
geomorphic setting, (3) potential sediment supply, (4)
foundation plant species, and (5) SLR. These activities
strengthen USGS research on coastal wetland
vulnerability, understanding tidal wetland evolution, and
responds to management needs.
