| Description: | NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD
This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS)’s intention to fund a Task Agreement against an existing Master Agreement. ABSTRACT OVERVIEW, RECIPIENT AND NPS INVOLVEMENT The Corps Network will collaborate with the National Park Service (NPS) to rehabilitate the roofs of cabin 1164 and 1165 at White Grass Dude Ranch. Installing a durable, leak-proof roof ensures the overall preservation of these buildings while extending these lifecycle. Additional work will be assigned, if time allows. Substantial involvement on the part the National Park Service (NPS) is anticipated for the successful completion of the objectives to be funded by this award. NPS staff will assist with the planning and coordination of the project as well as project execution. Preservation will be on-site for the entirety of the project. They will work side-by-side with the Rocky Mountain Historic Preservation Corps to share specific preservation techniques and accomplish the task of rehabilitating two roofs. NPS did not solicit full and open competition for this award based the following criteria: The cooperator is a member of the established 21st Century Conservation Corp Program- Youth Engagement and Development and was awarded a Cooperative Agreement P15AC00029 allowing The Corps Network to participate in specific tasks, and can provide the necessary activities involved in this particular task while providing an effective outcome for the National Park Service and the promotion of youth involvement. Three members of the 21st Century Conservation Corp Program were considered for this award and the The Corps Network was selected based on the expertise in the area of historic preservation, engaging youth in the outdoors, inspiring them to use their strengths and potential to lead healthy, productive lives. They teach responsibility for self, community, and environment through teamwork, service and experiential education. Each summer one of their crews specializes in historic preservation projects. |
