1. Shippensburg shall carry out the Statement of Work in accordance with the terms and conditions stated herein.  The Recipient shall adhere to Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes, as applicable.
2. Convene a workshop to identify existing sources of scientific data and information that will be useful for evaluating resource conditions and threats to Appalachian National Scenic Trail.  This workshop, and follow-up meetings, will also identify and classify key habitats within the NPS unit for assessment.
3. Existing data will be systematically reviewed and then the data most appropriate and relevant to determining natural resource condition will be compiled into appropriate tables, graphs, and maps.
4. Relevant data for the assessment will be synthesized and interpreted and the final natural resource condition assessment report will be prepared, in collaboration with the NPS. Through this project, we will gain new knowledge about the condition of natural resources along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and the scientific community will gain new knowledge through related results dissemination of project information. Both undergraduate and graduate students working on the project will gain hands-on experience outside of the classroom of natural resource projects.
