Applicant Eligibility Nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3), U.S. organizations; units of state or local government; or federally recognized tribal communities or tribes may apply. To be eligible, the applicant organization must: • Meet the Arts Endowment’s "Legal Requirements" at the time of application. An organization may submit only one proposal under this program solicitation. You may apply to other Arts Endowment funding opportunities, including Art Works and Our Town, in addition to the Jazz Masters Fellowship Event program solicitation. In each case, the request must be for a distinctly different project. |

This art form significantly contributes not just to American culture, but to world culture–as it is practiced all over the globe. Touring jazz musicians often are likened to ambassadors engaging in cultural diplomacy. The Arts Endowment plans to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with an organization to coordinate a free, public event honoring the 2016 NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship awardees, and related activities as detailed below. The event must take place during the month of April 2016, to coincide with and acknowledge the 15th anniversary of Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM). In addition, the event venue must be located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area to coincide with the year-long 50th anniversary celebrations of the National Endowment for the Arts (October 2015-2016). The event also must be webcast live to reach national and global audiences. |
