Additional Information on Eligibility: This is a Notice of Intent to award a Single Source Cooperative agreement to the Colorado State Forest Service Nursery for the purpose of purchasing various tree and shrubs to reforest the urban areas of the US Air Force Academy (USAFA). These funds are provided by the Department of Defense (DOD) through USAFA by the Sikes Act.

Description: The term goal is to reforest the urban forest with vegetation that is more acceptable to the urban interface. This include planting a variety of trees and bushes that are less susceptible to fire, insect attacks, drought, salt, residential stress, and will provide a pathway to define our urban and natural forests.

Specific goals include: plant a minimum of 700 seedlings per year, organize biannual meetings with Hunt Housing and Davey Tree Services to develop and refine an urban reforestation plan, provide adequate watering once after planting, and provide education to residents detailing the project through Hunt Housing.
