Description:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7 (EPA) is issuing a Request for Applications (RFA) from eligible entities to address at least one (1) of the EPA’s Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) Key Pillars and Program Focus Areas identified in Section I.C. Applications must demonstrate the SMM benefit to states, tribes, and/or communities within Region 7, which includes Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.

The total amount of federal funding potentially available under this announcement is approximately $600,000 (up to $300,000 in FY 2021 funds and up to $300,000 in FY 2022 funds based on anticipated funding, which is not guaranteed and may change). The number and dollar amount of awards issued is contingent upon funding availability (e.g., Congressional appropriations), satisfactory performance, the quality of applications received, and other applicable considerations. The EPA anticipates making three to six (3-6) individual awards ranging from $50,000 to $200,000, each with a project period of up to two (2) years. Awards will be incrementally funded in FY 2021 and FY 2022 subject to funding availability, satisfactory performance, and other applicable considerations.
