| Description: | The overall goal of this project is to give 1-2 student(s) experience in restoration ecology through on-the-ground experience with numerous national parks.
B. Project Objectives â¿¿ 1. The intern will work with SWEPMT, USGS RAMPS program, and NPS Sonoran, Southern Plains, and Chihuahuan Inventory and Monitoring Networks to assist in the review and compilation of non-native plant data which is within existing GIS data as well as restoration data. This task agreement supports DOI Priority #1.a. Utilize science to identify best practices to manage land and water resources and adapt to changes in the environment. The Southwest EPMTâ¿¿s primary purpose is to meet the Agencyâ¿¿s mission: the preservation of native habitats for the enjoyment of future generations. The Southwest EPMT uses the best and latest scientific knowledge to help 45 parks to preserve and restore native habitats. |
