Additional Information

Agency Name: Geological Survey
Description: The USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research centered on developing strategies for detecting and monitoring land change using Landsat data that can be used to document both natural and anthropogenic changes in the United States. Regional investigations are acceptable, but the results of the research should be expandable to the full United States.

The Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center is a remotely sensed data management, systems development, and science center for the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Land Resources Mission. EROS has long been at the forefront of land cover research from local to global scales. The USGS is modernizing its land cover monitoring capabilities through an initiative named LCMAP ¿ Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection, which ultimately enables the detection of land change and the characterization of land cover at any point in the 46+ year Landsat record
