Description:

This Request for Information (RFI), is a preliminary call to solicit responses from individuals, groups, and organizations about sources of artificial intelligence (AI)-related gender inequity in the context of developing countries. To encourage wide participation and crowdsourcing in this effort, we are requesting all inputs to this RFI be made on the associated blog posted to USAID Medium.

The objective of this RFI is to shine a light on the various contributors to gendered outcomes of AI tools and applications in developing countries. The interactive RFI process will allow respondents to share their experiences, impressions and suggested ideas related to this issue in a manner that fosters a shared understanding and generates opportunities for collaboration.

Through this RFI, USAID seeks to collect community input to inform and enhance the design of a prospective activity that addresses how gender bias manifests in artificial intelligence as used in low and middle income countries.
