The Vehicle Technologies Office, within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy of the US Department of Energy seeks public comment on its Request for Information regarding the Risks in the High Capacity Batteries, including Electric Vehicle Batteries Supply Chain. On February 24, 2021, President Biden issued an Executive order regarding the Supply Chains in the United States, which directs several Federal agency actions to secure and strengthen the supply chains in our nation. One of these directions is for the Secretary of Energy, to submit, within 100 days and in consultation with the heads of appropriate agencies, a report to the President identifying risks in the high capacity batteries, including electric vehicle batteries, supply chain and policy recommendations to address these risks. This is solely a request for information and is not a Funding Opportunity Announcement. The Department of Energy is not accepting applications to this Request for Information. Responses to this RFI must be submitted electronically to VTO@ee.doe.gov no later than 5:00 PM ET April 14, 2021. |
