Description: |
The project aims to provide training and technical assistance for the implementation and possibly, the initial operation phase, of Costa Rica’s new organized crime tribunals.
Given the above, and taking into account the concerning rates of violent crime and homicides related to organized crime, INL will support a one-year project to strengthen judicial capacity to address organized crime through the effective implementation of specialized organized crime tribunals. The selected implementer must be able to work closely with officials at high levels of Costa Rica’s judicial branch, including the Attorney General’s Office, Supreme Court, Circuit Tribunals, Judicial Investigation Police and related entities. Successful applicants must demonstrate evidence of strong, successful, working relationships with the aforementioned entities, experience working on organized and transnational crime issues in Costa Rica and countries in the region that have successful, operating entities similar to the tribunals that Costa Rica seeks to create. The selected implementer must have established working relationships with a broad pool of regional subject matter experts that can be leveraged to provide expertise for the training and technical assistance components of the project. |
