Description:

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to award a task agreement under a previously competed or single source justified master cooperative agreement.

Master Cooperative Agreement Number P13AC01138 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and USS Constitution Museum to collaborate to create the best possible visitor experience within the Charlestown Navy Yard, making visitors aware of the educational opportunities offered by each partner.

This project continues to use a framework developed for a multi-year partnership between the USSCM and Boston National Historical Park conducted under Cooperative Agreement P13AC01108.  The project focuses on two related areas of collaboration:  A) Activate 21st century learning through Boston’s Place-based Teaching and Learning Collaborative and B) Enhance Public Engagement through Execution of Recommendations from the 2018 Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Experience Study.
A.  Activate 21st century learning through Boston’s Place-based Teaching and Learning Collaborative
The USSCM and the National Park Service will collectively administer and use respective expertise and resources to engage The Collaborative in: Place-based program design, prototyping, evaluation and execution; Design, execution and administration of professional development opportunities that provide a framework and dynamic forum for building a community of practice for place-based teaching & learning using iconic sites associated with the National Parks of Boston and partner sites; Providing Boston youth with access to field experiences at sites along Boston’s Trails to Freedom and on the Harbor Islands; Creating and beta-testing an on-line trip planning tool that enables teachers to learn about and book curriculum-based field experiences for student groups.
B.  Enhance Public Engagement through Execution of Recommendations from the 2018 Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Experience Study: Prototype and evaluate creative place making and visitor engagement recommendations from the 2018 Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Experience study; Share information on Charlestown Navy Yard visitor engagement activities via web and social media.
