Description: The Next Gen Rangers will be assigned to the Division of Interpretation, at Saguaro National Park. The incumbent will be mentored by Chip Littlefield, Park Ranger-Education Branch Coordinator. The assigned NextGen Ranger will have opportunities to work alongside professional education staff to better understand the profession of Environmental Education and Interpretation in the National Park via leading citizen science projects, learning, assisting, implementing, and leading curriculum-based environmental education programs, and implementing a park-wide Hiking Club program to provide recreation opportunities for local diverse youth. The NextGen will also become familiar with the use of wildlife cameras to research and document small carnivore behavior in the riparian areas of the Tucson Mountain District of Saguaro. The intern will meet regularly with the assigned mentor(s), track hours, and report on activities and accomplishments.
