This U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service grant supports Region 6 Migratory Bird Joint Ventures, which are public/private partnerships. Its purpose is to advance important bird habitat conservation across the Mountain-Prairie Region (Kansas, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah). Joint Ventures conduct biological planning, habitat conservation actions, monitoring, and communication. The Service provides administrative funding to JVs for coordination and project development. JVs can then offer federal assistance for activities meeting partnership objectives. Agreements may extend up to five years, with potential funding increases subject to availability.
