This grant is for supporting refugee microenterprise development initiatives, a program the Administration for Children and Families’ (ACF) Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) has backed since 1991. It targets a wide array of organizations, including public agencies, community economic development agencies, human service agencies, local mutual assistance associations, and voluntary agencies. Successful applicants typically demonstrate a long-term commitment to microenterprise and its adaptation to the unique refugee experience, especially regarding access to lending. Furthermore, effective programs commit their own agency resources to support these efforts, ensuring their work in refugee microenterprise development aligns consistently with their broader organizational mission.
